Inadmissibility: Where to submit your application

If you need a visa to travel to Canada, you must submit both of the following applications together:

• your temporary residence application (visitor visa, study permit or work permit)
• any other application that applies to your circumstance, which could include
  • an ARC
  • criminal rehabilitation
  • a TRP consideration (in case your temporary residence application is rejected)

You can

• apply online or
• mail your applications and required documents to the nearest visa application centre

If you need an eTA to enter Canada, you must apply online for an eTA, a study permit or work permit. Once we confirm that you’re eligible for temporary residence, we’ll ask you to submit a separate application for an ARC or criminal rehabilitation. Send it directly to the visa office responsible for your region by mail or courier only.

If you don’t need a visa or an eTA to enter Canada, contact the nearest visa office before coming to Canada.

You must include a prepaid airway bill with your application. It will be used to safely return the passport(s) you send us and communicate to you our final decision. We won’t be able to return your documents unless you include a prepaid airway bill.
