Pick-up service:

You must pick up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready in 10 business days.

There is an extra fee to pick up in person ($20).

Standard pick-up:

You must pick up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready in 10 business days.

Express pick-up:

You must pick up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready in 2 to 9 business days.

There is an extra fee for express pick-up ($50).

Urgent pick-up:

You must pick up your passport in person at this location. It will be ready by the end of the next business day.

You must provide proof of travel to receive urgent service.

There is an extra fee for urgent pick-up ($110).

Delivery by mail

After we process your application, we’ll mail your passport to you.

The service standard (opens in a new tab)  for processing your application at this location is 20 business days.

Service standards do not include mail time. Mail time is usually 5 business days but can vary across the country.

Passport offices and Service Canada Centres will be closed on these dates in 2023:

  • April 10
  • May 22
  • June 26 (Quebec only)
  • July 3
  • August 7 (except Quebec)
  • September 4
  • October 2
  • October 9
  • November 13
  • December 25 and 26

You must provide proof that you need the passport

Proof you need the passport can be

  • an airline, bus or train ticket
    • If travelling by car, a written statement explaining why you need to travel
  • a travel itinerary showing proof of payment
  • proof of illness or death in the family requiring you to travel
  • a written statement from you or a third party explaining why you need the passport
    • For example, for legal, banking or residency requirements

If we can’t deliver the passport in time to you or your child, we aren’t liable for any losses.

We recommend that you don’t finalize any travel plans until you get your passport.
