What do I need to enter Canada as a visitor for the FIFA World Cup 26™?
Most travellers need a visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) to fly to, or transit through, a Canadian airport.
You should apply as early as possible to avoid missing your event.
You don’t need to have a FIFA ticket to apply for a visitor visa or an eTA. Having a FIFA event ticket doesn’t guarantee that your visa or eTA application will be approved.
Who needs a visitor visa
In most cases, you must apply for a visitor visa if you’re from a visa-required country(opens in a new tab) . In some cases, you may be eligible to apply for an eTA instead.
Who can get an eTA
You may be eligible to enter Canada with an eTA if
- you’re from a visa-exempt country or
- you meet all of the following criteria:
- You’re travelling to Canada from an eligible visa-required country.
- You’re travelling to Canada by air.
- You’ve held a Canadian visitor visa in the past 10 years or currently hold a valid United States (US) nonimmigrant visa.
